Collegiate Conference
Collegiate Conference 2018

Life constantly hurls us in unexpected directions. Culture shifts daily. Perspectives vacillate. Paradigms morph. Yesterday's solid foundations become today's suspicions and tomorrow's prison sentences. Anxiety and worry abound. Fear and hostility relentlessly grasp for more. Life itself fractures under the weight of growing darkness. Hope wanes. Or does it?

1 Peter 2:9 says, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into this wonderful light."

How do we lean into This calling? This reality? This light? What could it look like for 21 Collegiate Churches to declare the praises of Him who called us out of This darkness? What could it look like to burn brighter for Jesus? To radiate more of His light? To flood This generation with the Hope of Light who is Jesus, "in him there is no darkness at all."

Join us for three days of dwelling in the Light together. May the story of Jesus death, resurrection, and new life take hold of you again. May God's plan of redemption and renewal refuel your passion. And may the Gospel fill you with Light always.

With great anticipation,

Jason, Becky, and Sarah

Collegiate is not providing specific housing or hotel blocks this year for the conference. With that in mind, we hope you can find housing that fits you and budget! We did want to provide a few options hotel wise that are within a 10 minute drive of vista. But you are welcome to find another hotel or home rental of your choosing.

A note for those flying to the conference: If you are coming from outside the midwest, we may be able to find locals to host you if the additional cost of flying is a burden. Please let Becky Bondy know if this is something you would be interested in. We can't guarantee housing, but we would love to try and see what we can do!

During the Conference

Collegiate will not be providing shuttles to and from Vista each day, so each participant is responsible for their own transportation throughout their time in Columbus.

This year we are only providing coffee and snacks during the conference. No meals will be provided at the conference. We are excited to lower the conference fee for this year by reducing the cost spent on meals. Attendees are responsible for their own meals, be it packing meals or purchasing out. Meals and groceries purchased during the conference can be reimbursed following the normal Reliant reimbursement policies. See Reimbursements below for more details.

Breakouts and Roundtables

Roundtables: 60-minute deep dives on specific topics with a conversational focus. Format is very flexible and could include think tanking, common interest networking, or evaluation & problem solving. Each roundtable will have a designated facilitator(s) in charge of the time along with stated goals.

Breakouts: 60-minute workshop, presentation, and/or discussion on specific topics with a goal of informing, training, or equipping.

Breakout & Roundtable Sessions

Prospective Staff

We are inviting prospective Collegiate staff to attend this year's staff conference! A prospective staffer is anyone considering coming on staff within the next year. There is a reduced rate for these folks! So please invite anyone considering missionary work with Collegiate to attend!

Please see Reliant reimbursement policies for more details before you incur expenses for this event (flights, rental cards, housing, meals, etc). Children expenses are taxable since there is no specific children’s program provided this year. Associate eligibility rules still apply. Expenses for spouses and children of associate’s are not reimbursable.

Children and Families

This year we will not be having any formal children’s program or childcare during the conference. Our space at Vista is limited, so we will not be able to set aside room for children during the conference. You are welcome to bring your families, just note that during the conference hours there is nothing specific planned for families. And since the conference is not designed for children to attend, all expenses for children will be taxable.

If your church has any swag they would like to donate to give away during the conference please let Becky Bondy ( know and she will collect any giveways during conference registration.
