We apologize for the delay in publication this year. Reading it with today's eyes, we know this doesn't address the realities we have gone through in 2020. We do not want the lack of reflection on the defining moments of 2020 to be interpreted as insensitivity to the dramatically different place or pain so many have experienced in 2020.

Our sincere hope is that looking back in this way, with both praise and humility for all that God has done, will only serve to strengthen our faith and embolden our hearts. We know that "he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus".

2019 MARKS 30 YEARS OF SERVICE FOR RELIANT

2019 marks 30 years of service for Reliant. This milestone was reached because of you and countless others who have faithfully invested in the work of the Kingdom. Thank you. We are humbled and exceedingly grateful for your partnership and support.

When Reliant was founded in 1989 as Great Commission Ministries (GCM), no one could have dreamed all that God would do through us and for us on this journey to live out the Great Commission and spread the good news of Jesus Christ to the nations. The ministry started with a vision to serve a group of churches planted on college campuses, now Reliant missionaries serve in 184 various churches and ministries and in 19 countries.

We know this growth would not have been possible without the commitment of our missionaries, donors, church partners, board, Central Team staff, and more. Romans 12:4-5 says, "For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." As I reflect on the last 30 years of Reliant, I'm thankful for the reminder we belong to each other, in Christ, as we work on His mission together. In the past few years, and particularly in 2019, we've seen heightened growth in our church-based residency and intern programs. When churches first began to approach us looking for help with these programs, it required a pivot-point in a number of our systems and internal functions to accommodate this expansion. It has been incredible to watch how God has laid the framework that has enabled us to quickly scale-up to meet the needs of mobilizing so many men and women for His Kingdom.

Through both peaceful and trying times, your faithfulness in supporting the mission of mobilizing missionaries for the Great Commission has been incredible. We are so grateful to partner alongside each one of you in the work of the Gospel!

Thank you for being a part of the Reliant family. We look forward to seeing what the next 30 years hold!

PAST

30 YEARS OF IMPACT

"Back in 1989, a group of us were privileged to embark on a fresh adventure to serve in ministry and missions. For me, that has meant involvement in over 30 church launches in 36 countries thus far. It has meant dozens and dozens of people becoming followers of Christ. It has meant seeing both disciples and leaders equipped and released to follow their own adventures. Mine continues into countries and with people whom I have yet to meet - but I know that the platform of support, resources, and prayer will allow the net to be cast ever wider, until 'His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven'."

- Mark Groff, 1989 Training Participant
"Reliant New Staff Training equipped me to do the ministry to which I am called. If anything, I felt more in love with my ministry as I learned to tell my story and cast the vision for my ministry!"

HIGHLIGHTS

Growing Residency & Intern Programs

Programs with a fixed term (usually one or two years) saw continued growth as churches realized their value for training and equipping the next generation of ministry leaders. We went from 86 fixed term missionaries at the end of 2018 to 120 at the end of 2019. A number of these young men and women decide to stay on with Reliant in a full-time ministry role upon completion of the program.

"We had been praying for a while about how to improve our Fellows Program in sustainability and scalability. Reliant was the answer to that problem. They relieved our Finance and HR departments of a huge amount of work while providing an expertise in support raising that we could not come close to." - Marty Scott, Global Outreach & Fellows Pastor at Grace Bible Church

"Reliant has been a tremendous partner for The Austin Stone as we seek to train Christian leaders for the church, city, and nations. Reliant's passion to support the work of ministry and mission is matched by their competency as a team to serve through operations and administration. The Austin Stone is a better church, and God's kingdom grows because of Reliant's support and help!"

New and Emerging Programs

100UPG Cooperative - This partnership of churches, ministries, and leaders aims to accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission by catalyzing church planting movements in 100 unreached people groups (UPG). In 2019 we began training missionaries through our partnership with 100 UPG Cooperative. We praise the Lord for allowing us to help launch ministers of the gospel into previously unreached people groups in areas like East Asia and the Middle East. We look forward for what is to come.
"Reliant Mission is an organization that not only talks about serving and blessing churches and ministries, but actually does it. I have experienced firsthand, as I am building and leading a cross-cultural-ministry, that Reliant will do whatever it takes to make our work more efficient and effective for the glory of God. Our recruiting, assessing, and on-boarding has grown significantly because of the work that Reliant does alongside of us."

- Pete, Middle East Field Hub Team Leader with 100UPG.

FUTURE

The Next 30 Years

Serving the Church. Mobilizing Missionaries. Inspiring Confidence.

As we look to the next thirty years, we believe the key to our future is a focused commitment to the principles and values that brought us to today:

Serving the Church - Reliant partners with missional Churches, knowing that God has called the Church to be the hope of the world. This appears in many forms and stages from church planting to maturation. Looking ahead, Reliant will remain aligned with the mission of the Church around the world, with a focus of working with those churches and missionaries who are among the least-reached.

Mobilizing Missionaries - Our Missionaries are the next generation of leaders; often starting in ministry through intern and training programs. In this way, Reliant is part of an ever-expanding multiplying of the Gospel through the generations.

Inspiring Confidence - As an agency, we are committed to stewarding, with great care, God's people and resources, ensuring we are faithful with all we have been entrusted with.
