Raising a fully-supported salary takes time and commitment.
Most church planters or ministry workers need 4-10 months to raise a full salary. During the fundraising launch phase, ministry workers devote their full attention to building a team of financial partners until they reach a 100% funding level.
This phase is designed for success. One of the most common causes of long-term failure is trying to raise funds "on the side" while continuing ministry work and even another job. This can cause a distraction where workers never achieve the support needed to be sustainable in ministry. We ask that ministry workers enter this phase knowing this should be a top priority.
Our studies confirm that a key to success in fundraising is a regular—typically weekly—connection with an MTD Coach. MTD coaches are current or former Reliant staff who have been through training and raised support, so they can speak to all the challenges and joys this season allows. Our coaches support, challenge, and encourage our ministry workers in Christian character, true theological thinking, and MTD skills and strategy.
While the most important part of coaching is regular contact and spiritual support, Reliant has decades of experience in fundraising data that can help us pinpoint success and trouble points. We provide local coaches with access to our tools for helping create individual goals and tracking progress. We provide private Follow-Up MTD webinars and super-coach consultations for seeking expertise or additional help for complex situations. For churches or ministries which may be new to incorporating MTD into their church strategy, Reliant provides cross-network coaching, bringing valuable expertise to help launch the local model that is so important to the success of MTD.
