How do I initiate a gift of stock or securities?

Reliant Mission, Inc is happy to accept your gift of stock or securities as a charitable gift for the important work of ministry.

Reliant accepts gifts via our brokerage accounts with Charles Schwab. 

Tax Benefits

There may be significant tax benefits to your gift of stock or securities.

  • You will not be required to pay any capital gains tax on any appreciation of the asset
  • If you have held the property for more than one year (resulting in long-term capital gains), you may be entitled to an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the property as of the date you donate that property to Reliant.

Of course individual situations vary, so please consult your tax advisor.

Initiating a Stock Gift

Gifts are initiated by a letter of intent to your brokerage.

State that you wish to transfer stock (or other securities, if applicable) from your brokerage account to Reliant's Charles Schwab account as a charitable donation. The letter should include the following information:

  • Your name and brokerage account number.
  • The full name and exact number of shares of each security you wish to transfer.
  • Reliant name and Charles Schwab account number.
  • The Depository Trust Corp. (DTC) number for the transfer.
  • The name of the Reliant ministry or campaign you prefer to support.
  • Please be sure to sign and date your letter (both spouses must sign if joint account).
