How is the missionary I support paid? All employed missionaries with Reliant receive a monthly paycheck from us. Missionary salaries are fixed and pre-approved and are drawn from the designated ministry account which covers not only salary but also things like medical benefits and ministry expenses (learn more). Why can't my missionary accept cash gifts? Can they accept a gift card? Sometimes donors want to bless a missionary with "gas money" a gift at Christmas, or cash from a love offering at church. We very much appreciate these gestures since it shows so much Christian love and care! However, it's often a surprise to donors that there are a number of legal and ethical rules we are responsible for regarding receiving cash or gift cards (which are very much like cash).
